The international conference „Sustainable Tourism and Blue Growth in the Black Sea Region“ was held in Varna (Bulgaria) on 8 October 2024 at the campus of Varna University of Management. The event focused on the role of the tourism sector in ensuring blue growth in theBlack Sea region.
In the framework of the conference, expertsand researchers of project partners presented the challenges of the tourism sector in their countries, respectively Bulgaria, Greece, Moldova and Turkey, mainly related to improving sustainability, innovation and technological solutions. Together with the 35 on-site event participants -representatives of businesses, higher education institutions, local public authorities and citizens, were disussed and outlined appropriate solutions that may support tourism in the Black Sea region and activate its contribution to blue growth.
The conference also formally inaugurated the international network INTERSMARTS, whose work will be more visible in the next months.
