We are pleased to announce that the INTERSMARTS Network has finalized and officially published its comprehensive Needs Assessment Reports. They represent a key milestone in the INTERSMARTS partnership’s mission to foster smarter, more sustainable and resilient coastal tourism in the Black Sea region and beyond. Developed collaboratively by project partners across multiple countries, the reports provide an in-depth analysis of:
- Local and regional tourism development priorities
- Stakeholder needs and expectations
- Capacity-building requirements
- Challenges and opportunities for sustainable blue economy initiatives
- Recommendations for future policy-making and training actions
The findings may serve as the basis for designing tailored training programmes, pilot activities, and reforms at local, regional, and national levels. By systematically mapping the needs of tourism professionals, local authorities, SMEs, and communities, the project aims to support more effective, inclusive and sustainable development pathways.
We invite all stakeholders – from policymakers and practitioners to researchers, educators and business owners – to review and share the reports. Your feedback is welcome and will help us further strengthen cooperation and knowledge exchange in support of smarter, greener coastal destinations.
